Adults Available for Adoption

To begin the adoption process, please click on our on line adoption form, fill out form completely and submit to us. Once we receive your form we will process and contact you for a visit and will email directions. Adoption fees range from $100.00 to $150.00, (exotics may be a little more).  Payment is by check or cash only.

All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV tested, have been given distemper shots, have been wormed, are flea free (we use Advantage), ears are examined and treated if necessary and if older than 3 months are given rabies shot.

Disclaimer:  We sometimes enter the wrong name or sex for a cat.  With so many kitties, even the volunteers get confused.  But the pictures don't lie.  If you see a kitty you like, please contact us ASAP.

Doris - female - 2 years
I've been here since February, 2011

I should get the academy award for the “Most Improved Purrsonality”.  I was rescued from a terrible situation with my kittens and my boyfriend (Ramon) and I was really a little witch when I first arrived.  I was afraid something would happen to my kittens, then I was worried we wouldn’t have enough food to eat (which was the situation that I came from) and I didn’t know if the volunteers were good guys or bad guys.  Now that I know this is a safe haven until I can find a purrmanent home, I’m a much happier kitty.  I don’t growl anymore, I’ll let you pet me and I don’t fight either.  If you just met me for the first time, you would say “What a mellow kitty” which is true now but not so much at the beginning of the year.  Please reward me for my turnaround by bringing me into your home.  I would consider that my reward.  If you want to adopt another cat with me, Ramon would be the purrfect fit.  Maybe we can finally tie the knot.

Esme - female - 1 year
I've been here since February, 2011
Esme, Greta & Wally – In case you didn’t know, we are littermates.  A kind lady found us behind a McDonald’s that was out of town when we were young kittens.  We weren’t used to people, so it took a while for her to earn our trust.  We get along great with other cats but we wouldn’t be good with kids because we’d scatter before they even had a chance to pet us.  Wally is the most social and loves attention the most and Esme & Greta don’t require too much attention but will gladly accept treats and toys.  If you have lots of TLC and wouldn’t mind working with us, we’ll reward you with purrs and we’ll even let you hold us once we know you.

Fantasia - female - 1 year
I've been here since November, 2010
Hello my name is Fantasia.  I was left on the shelter's doorstep with my sisters Leilani and Stardust.  It was very scary but the morning volunteers brought us into the shelter and made sure we were warm and fed us right away.  I sure hope that never happens to me again! I am looking for my forever home.  If you want a cute, playful girl to spend forever with then please come visit me!

Freesia - female - 2 years
I've been here since July, 2011
I was found locally and cared for over the summer from the Goodrich Street area in Lunenburg.  I’m a laid back kitty that would do well by myself or with another kitty.  I got along great with another cat while I was waiting to come here.  Belle could pass for my twin if you’re not paying attention, so please check out my name tag to make sure you have the right kitty.  The name is Freesia not sure what that means but if you adopt me, then feel free to give me a new name.
