Disclaimer:  We sometimes may enter the wrong name for a cat, or even the wrong sex.  With so many kitties, even the volunteers get confused.  But the pictures don't lie.  If you see a kitty you like, please contact us ASAP.

I had a tough life before I got here but things are starting to turn around for me.  I don’t have to scrounge looking for my next meal, I always have fresh water and there’s always a litter box nearby.  I thought I was in heaven until I was told there’s a better place called a Purrmanent Home and it would really benefit my health and attitude if someone would give me a chance to be their furry buddy.  I have beautiful orange swirls that are very enticing and I’m really good at grooming myself and have excellent litter box manners.  I get scared if I’m around too many cats so if you have another FIV+ cat or an older cat that’s very mellow looking for a friend PLEASE consider taking me home.  Read more about FIV, cats can live for many years without symptoms.

Holmes St. # 1 - Female - 1 year
I've been here since: October, 2007
Hello, I actually arrived here from another shelter. I was caught during a trapping program provided by another shelter. A woman was actually hoarding quite a few of us kitties around her home so they rescued me and now I am here to find my forever home. I've been through so much in my short little life, please give me a safe, loving home to live the rest of my life in.  Holmes St. #1 is very afraid of people, she will need to go to a special home that has the time and attention to help socialize her

Jenny - Female - 2 years
I've been here since July, 2006
Hello Humans, my name is Jenny and trust me, once you get to know me, you won't forget my name. "Jenny, get outta there" ! "Jenny don't do this" ! "Jenny, come back here"! "Jenny, be nice to Valerie"! ...... but it's not me really!!  The rumor has it that I'm an escape artist, well, it's not my fault, they don't squeeze through a crack in the door quick enough.  But then, who could be mad at me, just look into my beautiful blue eyes!  Needless to say I am a very smart kitty who needs to be entertained and pampered like a Queen, some might say I'm mischievous?  But hey, what cat isn't.  So if you don't want a dull moment in your life, come see me at the shelter.  I'll greet you at the door, but enter quickly or I might go for a stroll !!!

Jenny is our shelter mascot, she loves the shelter and the volunteers.  She will greet you when you visit!!!

Ok, here's the deal, I WANT to be an ONLY cat. I just love people but those other cats keep trying to take away all the attention from me. I'm shaved on my sides because I was covered in mats but I'm doing much better now. I'll follow you around like a puppy looking for attention and I just love to be petted. Don't back off if I hiss at another cat because I can be QUEEN of the house, we won't have to worry about me getting upset again. I'm waiting for you, come see me son, please-oh-please

I’m an indoor/outdoor kitty that had a home for 4 years but my family lost interest in me.  I brought home another cat one day that also came to the shelter with me but he got adopted.  It’s taken me a while to adjust being here but I finally stopped hiding and I will let you pet me.  I don’t care to be picked up but I’m sure if you have some patience that I’ll sit next to you and keep you company.  I hang out with some of the other cats outside and I love it when I can get treats.  So, I’m hoping to find a home where I can get some attention and TLC to help my purrsonality to develop.

Kidd - Male - 2 years - Japanese Bobtail
I've been here since April, 2008
I just heard the news that Beany got adopted. We used to be housemates at one time and we were rescued from Whalom Park (after it closed). Our former guardian had too many cats and I was one of the ones she had to surrender. It may be a little difficult to find me here because it takes me a while to adapt to a new environment. If you're patient, it'll be worth the wait because I'm good with kids AND dogs and of course other cats. If you don't find me right away just ask and I'm sure someone will be willing to give you assistance. All I ask for is a purrmanent home and some furry brothers or sisters to keep me company when you're at work.

My sister Lillian was already adopted a long time ago and I'm hoping to get a furrever home soon too. Especially since I'm no longer shy and turned into a real love bug! I love to be cuddled, I'll purr and I'll even get on your shoulders if you let me.  I do fine with other cats and am just looking for a chance to have a purrmanent home together with you. Please give me a chance, that would be pawsome!
