ADOPTION INFORMATION

I'm looking for YOU to come and take me home!We have a tremendous selection of cats and kittens of all shapes, sizes and breeds.  You are certain to find the kitty who is purrfect for you at the shelter.  Kittens under the age of 4 months must be adopted in pairs.

All of our cats/kittens are fixed, tested for FeLV/FIV, wormed, treated with Advantage so that our shelter remains flea free, receive rabies and distemper shots and are treated for ear mites, if necessary.

If you have an interest in adopting from our shelter then please read our Adoption Policies.  If you agree with the policies, click here to fill out our online adoption form to get the process started.

Once we receive your adoption form, our procedure is to confirm your references and then contact you to set up a convenient appointment time and date.  We usually are available Monday thru Friday, 12 noon to 3 p.m., Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. and Saturday afternoons beginning at 1 p.m. All adoptions are by appointment only.  Due to our all volunteer status, we are unable to have 'open viewing hours'.

We always respond first to the people who fill out the online adoption form. The comment section on the form is the place to put your individual questions and any specific preferences Our adoption fee is $85.00-$125.00 for mixed breed cats and kittens and between $125-$150 for exotics/purebred.

The web site does not give out exact directions to the shelter, just an area map.  When we set up our adoption time with you, we will email you specific directions to the shelter.

Featured Cats: Here's a new way to see ALL of our Available Cats and Kittens just as they are listed on Petfinder.

We are in need of foster homes! Can you foster us for 3-4 weeks?

It's that time of the year again and we need your help to care for ORPHAN KITTENS. We are asking you to open your hearts and homes to care for these  babies until they are old enough to be brought into the shelter and be put up for adoption. It is much healthier for the  kittens to be fostered in a private home where there's less exposure to other cats. We want to give these babies time to develop strong immune systems before adoption. If necessary we can provide you with a cage to house the kittens while they are still growing and developing. To find out what it takes to be a foster parent click on "foster homes needed" on the left side bar.

Fund Raising, Donations and Sponsorships - We're making it easier for you to help out the shelter by allowing you to now make online donations.  We have been using PayPal for many years and they are secure and safe.  If your company has a matching gifts program, please take advantage of it to increase any donation you make to the shelter.  We qualify as a registered non-profit organization.  This is one way to make your gift go twice as far.

PBS is a registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. Our Federal ID number is 22-3117579

CAT OF THE MONTH - DAWN #23

Dawn #23 - male - 1 year
Exotic Shorthair Mix

I’m the last of the Dawn kittens. I am absolutely handsome and I'd be gorgeous if I were a female. I need a quiet home with an outgoing kitty such as Charmer or Blossom to help my purrsonality bloom. Please, don’t even think of having me be the only cat in your home because I’d be absolutely miserable.  I respond well to a gentle approach but make sure to let me smell your hand and then I'll let you pet me. If the weather is sunny and warm, you’ll find me soaking up the sun like a solar panel and I won’t let you pet me until I’m indoors.  You can’t disturb my sun soaking ambitions, how else am I going to stay warm if it gets chilly?  Oh yeah, that’s right I’m wearing a fur coat.  Anyway, I need someone with lots of patience that’ll keep me indoors with a sunny window.  Don’t rush things with me but let me tell ya, when I love you, then you’ll see that I’m a lap cat and I’ll even roll around in your lap if you give me a chance and have patience with me.
